JSD Ltd. imports and sells raw materials and additives of lubricant oil, and also provides oil cleaning units that eliminate oil waste by using the world’s most advanced oil cleaning technology in its “cellulose capillary filter”. This oil cleaning system can remove particles as small as 100 nanometers (=0.1 micron) as well as water, which causes the oil to remain cleaner than new oil at all times and eliminates any need for changing lubricating and hydraulic oil. It also removes sludge and varnish in their precursor stage, solving those issues at the root level. Thorough oil management to eliminate oil waste and extends machine life is now a common theme worldwide, as it is directly related to UN’s “SDGs” to pass on a sustainable global environment to our next generations.
In January 2008, JSD Ltd. was founded as a trading company specializing in lubricant raw materials and additives to meet the demand for calcium sulfonates in Japan.
In June 2015, with the cooperation of Quimica Liposoluble S.A. de C.V., a world-renowned manufacturer of sulfonates, JSD Ltd. changed its corporate structure to its current form as a limited liability company, enabling closer collaboration and provision of information as an authorized distributor of Quimica Liposoluble in Japan. Since then, we have committed ourselves to being a direct link between Quimica Liposoluble’s manufacturing and marketing departments and Japanese customers.
In 2017, JSD began the sale of oil cleaners using a revolutionary oil filter – the “cellulose capillary filter”. These are in wide usage throughout Europe, where countries have the strictest environmental regulations. These filters can remove particles at the nano-level (100 nanos = 0.1 micron) from hydraulic and lubricating oils in large rollers, paper machines, and turbine oils at power generation sites. Not only does the oil become super clean, the sludge and varnish that has adhered to the internal surface can flushed away, and the machinery parts are protected from wear, prolonging the life of the machine and reducing maintenance cost and workload. These aspects contribute greatly to growing global call for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2019, we will become the Japanese distributor of Tan Delta Systems which manufactures oil monitoring systems that enable real-time detection of abnormalities in lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, and engine oil. Oil monitoring is possible from remote locations we all. This product has given us the opportunity to access more factory sites that use oil than before.
In 2021, in response to increased customer demand for sulfonates, we began managing domestic inventories of calcium sulfonate and other sulfonates at multiple locations in eastern and western Japan.
In 2018, Dr. Minoru Fujita, Doctor of Engineering (Chemistry) became the Technical Advisor for JSD Ltd. recognizing the excellence of the products sold at JSD Ltd. and its environmental policy. Dr. Minoru Fujita graduated from the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, at Osaka University before joined Showa Sekiyu K.K. (Showa Shell Sekiyu and now RS Energy K.K.). He has been involved in research and development of lubricants, greases, fuel, and additives, and has served as a research manager and a senior researcher at the Central Research Laboratory at Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K. He currently heads the Petroleum Analytical Chemistry Laboratory.
Currently, he runs the Institute of Petroleum Analysis and Chemistry, where he conducts seminars on lubricants, conducts research and development, publishes books, and provides technical guidance at domestic and overseas lubricant and hydraulic oil sites, making a significant contribution to industrial circles. JSD can also arrange lectures and technical workshops with Dr. Fujita on lubricants and additives, and you can contact us through the inquiry form on the JSD Ltd. website.
He has received numerous awards, including the 1994 Japan Petroleum Institute Award, the 2005 Distinguished Achievement Award from the Japan Society of Tribologists, and the 2006 President’s Award from the Japan Society of Professional Engineers.
